WBD operations during Cluster short eclipses

This page shows WBD operations that overlap with Cluster short eclipses. The Cluster downlink to DSN will be switched into low power mode for a period before, during and after the eclipse. The table shows (a) the Cluster spacecraft number, (b) the time of the start of WBD operations on that spacecraft, (c) the time of the switch to low power mode, (d) the eclipse start and end, (e) the time of the switch back to high power mode for downlink, (f) the time of the end of WBD operations on that spacecraft and (g) the DSN antenna assigned to the operation. Times are UTC and are rounded to nearest minute using the format DOY HH:MM. See notes at end of page for more detail.

Notes

  1. This list shows 15 cases in which short eclipses overlap with WBD operations
  2. In all cases, the short eclipse falls within the WBD operation
  3. WBD operations include 3-minute margin over DSN BOT/EOT. These margins are subject to small changes if orbit changes alter the times of reference events used in commanding these operations
  4. This list will be reviewed against changes in Cluster orbit & DSN scheduling and new versions issued if needed.
  5. HPA low set at Eclipse start - 9'45"
  6. HPA high set at Eclipse end + 5'00"
